Love at First Sight

☎ Just read CLAMP’s new Gate 7, I don’t really know what to say. It’s nice to see new CLAMP work though, I have to say that it’s rather typical of them. Mokona is definitely doing the artwork for this series. Story-wise, I thought it was typical of CLAMP, which means it’s confusing as hell and fresh as 6am’s steam buns. It remind me a bit of Kobato though, no idea why. The characters don’t see that strong, to me at least, but then I’m picky now after reading Bakuman. Design-wise, I only like the Domeki look-alike. Main dude reminds me a bit of Watanuki, but Watanuki is definitely more awesome than him. 😛 Well, I’ll definitely read this when it comes out next spring, even though I’m having some doubts of it being shounen and good in general. >.> Darn, when’s CLAMP ever going to continue X?  T_T

☎ Been pretty busy this the past week, too many tests to study for and too many papers to worry about. =_= College life is hard… –sigh- Especially when you are trying to do a million things at the same time trying to challenge yourself to the fullest. And then there’re sadist professors who make you read 200 pages of textbook and give out tests when you just had one two weeks ago.

☎ I’ve been pretty obsessed with Bakuman these days. I knew that it was a promising work when I first heard the anime was coming out, but reading it was even better. The shounen kind of slice-of-life is awesome too, and I just love the two main characters. XD I don’t know if I’m going to continue watching the anime though now that I’m catching up on the manga, but looking at how awesome it is right now, I’d say I’ll continue it. (even though Fairy Tail started this way too, and now I’m just watching the fillers like Bleach…>.>) Well, reading Bakuman made me picking Death Note back up again, guess dropping it last year was a mistake since it’s pretty damn good. ^^;

☎ New layout, guess “Simply Umi” isn’t going to come back, Bakuman is on the top of my list now. ^^;;

☎ I marathoned through Revolutionary Girl Utena a few days ago. Got interested while researching for my Japanese paper, plus Star Driver this season is supposed to be heavily inspired from Utena since the screenwriter did Utena too or something like that. So, I decided to check it out. Man, it was a mistake. >.> Well, not completely I guess. On one hand, I got a good laugh from watching the typical 90s shojo anime-adaption with cliché “Monster of the Week” episode conception, long-haired bishonen, and typical awesome 90s anime theme songs(totally obsessed with Rinbu Revolution now). But the completely messed-up new concepts that supposedly “revolutionized” the shojo genre were a bit too much for me I guess, all the incestuous relationships between every single pair of siblings existed in the series, pretty outright yuri between the two heroines, and the last bit of yaoi subtly scattered around the episodes, ugh. I’m all for the magical girl genre, but the twisted plots with illegal relationships all around definitely wasn’t what I imagined. =_= I think I’ll stick with good ole Sailor Moon. Well, I might do a review after I’m done, if I’ll bother to finish the middle episodes I’ve skipped. =_=

☎ Got a perfect score on my math midterm. <33 How I love math now…

☎ Well I did start my NaNoWriMo novel, so now I’ll feel guilty if I don’t finish it. I have no clue what I’m writing though, it’s like a mix of my 30-narrative idea and the past-future train idea from last year. Hopefully, it’ll turn into something interesting, well, if I start writing. So far I have four characters: the narrator with a million name choices possible, Asakura who’s supposed to embody the past or something like that, Christina (I ripped this off from W Juliet haha) who has the future motifs all around her, and a Charlie, who I have no idea what to do with him yet except paring him up with the narrator at the end. You can call this a slice-of-life novel with fantasy elements and a twist of romance at the end, mwahahaha…

☎ I properly did cleaning today, living the college life isn’t half bad at all. Now, if only our cafeteria food can get a bit better…

Off to write paper, read textbook, write novel, and sleep… Story of my life. 🙂

Fall Season First Impression + Watchlist

So before I bother to finish writing up the summer season summary (oh how I live alliteration…), I might as well roll out the fall season watchlist since I’m pretty much set on what I’m watching. Lots of ranting ahead, probably, but I’ll put the list on top before the cut. 🙂
